Summer Lesson Teachers

Dear Parents of Elementary Band Members:

Every summer, many of our elementary students take private lessons.  It is important for your child to continue playing over the summer and private study can keep them playing.  Students that take summer lessons will continue to improve instead of getting rusty.  Lessons also reinforce musical concepts we’ve learned during the school year.  We are fortunate to have several excellent teachers in the Brookville area that are willing to take on students for summer lessons.  Please contact a teacher below anytime to set up a summer weekly private lesson for your child.  Summer lessons help develop lifelong enrichment skills.

Clarinet Teacher:  Miss Emily Rickard, 814-715-3724, (Madison Ave. Brookville) Emily played 1st chair clarinet throughout her years at Brookville High School.  She is a music major at Penn State University and teaches Clarinet lessons for the summer.  Clarinet players should be taking lessons from Emily.Emily’s email:  emilyrrickard@gmail.com

Drum-Set and Percussion Teacher:  Mr. Brian Rowan, 814-938-3915, (Brookville) Mr. Rowan works at Spotts Music Center.  He lives in Punxsutawney but teaches drum lessons at his parents home in Brookville.  To learn drum set to be in our jazz band, drum students should take lessons from Brian.Several Brookville drum students presently study with Mr. Rowan.

All Band Instruments Teacher:  Mr. Richard Williams, 814-648-2777, (Brookville) Mr. Williams played trumpet throughout his years at Brookville High School.  He has his music teaching degree from Indiana University of PA and is a substitute teacher in the Brookville Area School District.   All trumpet players should be taking summer lessons from Mr. Williams.                                                                       Mr. William’s email:  rwilliams@basd.us
